V dob\u011b I. sv\u011btov\u00e9 v\u00e1lky se musela tov\u00e1rna pod\u00edlet na v\u00e1le\u010dn\u00e9 v\u00fdrob\u011b. Po v\u00e1lce pokra\u010duje raketov\u00fd v\u00fdvoj spole\u010dnosti a roz\u0161i\u0159uje sv\u016fj sortiment tak\u00e9 o n\u00e1kladn\u00ed vozidla a motory do letadel. V roce 1924 tov\u00e1rna vyho\u0159ela a nastaly velk\u00e9 probl\u00e9my a kv\u016fli tomu se pozastavil i jej\u00ed rozvoj. V tomto moment\u011b se odstupuje od ozna\u010den\u00ed Laurin &amp; Klement a p\u0159ij\u00edm\u00e1 se jm\u00e9no a znak \u0160koda. S drobn\u00fdmi obt\u00ed\u017eemi v dob\u011b hospod\u00e1\u0159sk\u00e9 krize podnik prosperoval i nad\u00e1le a\u017e do obdob\u00ed II. sv\u011btov\u00e9 v\u00e1lky. V tomto obdob\u00ed se tov\u00e1rna stala sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed n\u011bmeck\u00e9ho koncernu a vyr\u00e1b\u011bly se zde sou\u010d\u00e1stky do zbran\u00ed a vojensk\u00e1 vozidla. Po skon\u010den\u00ed v\u00e1lky \u0160koda op\u011bt pokra\u010dovala ve sv\u00e9 v\u00fdrob\u011b, av\u0161ak v\u00fdroba n\u00e1kladn\u00edch automobil\u016f a autobus\u016f byla p\u0159evedena od \u0160kodovky do jin\u00fdch firem. N\u00e1kladn\u00ed vozidla se za\u010dala vyr\u00e1b\u011bt pod n\u00e1zvem LIAZ (kter\u00fd je dnes tak\u00e9 sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed koncernu Volkswagen) a autobusy byly p\u0159evedeny pod podnik Karosa. Po roce 1948 je \u0160kodovka zest\u00e1tn\u011bna a ofici\u00e1ln\u00ed n\u00e1zev zn\u00ed AZNP Mlad\u00e1 Boleslav (Automobilov\u00e9 z\u00e1vody, n\u00e1rodn\u00ed podnik). Ov\u0161em kv\u016fli omezen\u00ed styku se z\u00e1padem za\u010d\u00edn\u00e1 automobilka ve sv\u00fdch modelech a technologi\u00edch zaost\u00e1vat. O vozy \u0160koda tak nen\u00ed na z\u00e1pad\u011b z\u00e1jem a prod\u00e1vaj\u00ed se pouze ve v\u00fdchodn\u00edch zem\u00edch. Po p\u00e1du komunismu v roce 1989 se \u0160kodovka st\u00e1v\u00e1 sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed gigantick\u00e9ho koncernu Volkswagen, spolu s n\u00ed do koncernu pat\u0159\u00ed tak\u00e9 vozy Audi a Seat.
